Wedding | Darren & Moraima | Bethlehem, PA

Session Date: July 24, 2010
Venue: The Meadows
Associate Photographer: LaKaye Mbah

I was a little nervous for this day to come. Since this was an out of town adult only wedding, I knew that I would have to leave my son at home. I procrastinated to the very last minute before leaving Baltimore. Luckily grandma had decided to watch the kids in our home (thanks grandma).

On the day of the wedding I was awoken by a slight peck on my neck from my husband. I almost jumped out of the bed thinking that the baby was crying and I needed to get up and get him. After realizing where I was I decided calm down and relax. Today was going to be a beautiful day and i was going to enjoy it. After getting some breakfast (conveniently provide by the hotel) and I was off to meet the bride at the salon… and just like that I was carried into that space in time where I am most comfortable.

Darren & Moraima had the perfect day.

Brides spends countless hours putting together the right items to make their wedding day complete (so much more than getting a tux… sorry guys). The dress, the shoes, the jewelry….it all has to be perfect and I think Moraima achieved that perfection. But how could she not, perfection is easy to achieve when you are celebrating everlasting love.

When I photograph weddings I spend most of the morning with the bride while my associate Lakaye captures the memorable moments of the groom and his attendants. Being that the groom is my brother I was able to check up on him before the wedding and all I was told was that he was a little nervous… Looking at the pictures below and I am beginning to believe that I was misinformed. These pictures capture his true essence.

This was my first catholic ceremony and it was definitely not what I expected. I had never step inside of a catholic church before, so I was amazed at first glance. The decor of the church was absolutely beautiful. The stain glass windows, the statues of Mary, the altar…breathtaking. I will admit that I was a little nervous not knowing the customs of the Catholic church, however I made it through with ease.

The venue for the reception had a beautiful grassy knoll that allow us to take some wonderful portraits of this beautiful couple.

YES… they had one of their engagement session images on display. In case you did get a chance to view the images of the engagement session, please click here.

Thank you Darren and Moraima for allowing us to capture your day. We had an amazing time and will cherish this event in our hearts forever.
